COVERED CASSEROLE

This is a fabulous casserole dish!. Over the past twenty years Dave and Marlyn have been perfecting their own glazes and glazing techniques including the use of local river clays. The five stage process can be compared to the Javanese method of fabric printing known as Batik. They apply the river clay to the pots, then paint on the intricate patterns using liquid wax emulsion, and finally several layers of different glazes are applied. The wax resist burns off in the glaze firing leaving an intricate pattern in dark chocolate (the river clay) against a rich background of glaze colors: plums, blues, browns, greens, and tans. The richness of this glaze blends into most decors. All of their pottery is dishwasher, microwave and oven-proof. Height 3.5 inches. By Width 11.5 inches.
